26.2 is a long way...

This is our first official posting of our new blog. We are pumped to have finished what I call "the worst thing I have ever done in my life." Last weekend Annie and I ran the First Light Marathon here in Mobile. I came in dead last in 8 hours and 7 minutes while Annie finished in 5 hours and 50 minutes. Dealing with fear of heart failure and loneliness as I completed the st rived to complete the race, I learned a few things about myself. 1) I can always do more than I think I can. In a world filled with busyness and schedules,I love the excuse of I don't have the time or energy as much or more than anyone, but the truth is...we do what we really want to do at all costs. 2) Christ really allows me to do all things in His strength. The one problem I have found with me is that...I don't depend on His strength nearly as much as I need to. Ina nut shell, I hope to press the envelope a little more to see what I can do through the strength of Christ!!

Scotty, I'm pumped that you finished the marathon, whether first or last. You're the bomb. I admire you're perseverence.
