Happy Memorial Day!

Today we remember with thankful hearts, all of our men and women in uniform who have served and currently serve our country! The price of freedom is certainly not cheap! May God's grace continually cover you as you serve so sacrificially. Happy Memorial Day!!!!

Crazy Sundays...

There's always a crazy starting element to my Sundays. Maybe it's getting 3 kids up, dressed, fed, little girl's hair done, pottied and to the early service on time. Maybe. There is always some extra little thing that happens in the midst of all that though. Sometimes it's little children who struggle with disobedience. Sometimes it's somebody pooping all over creation and needing an extra bath. Sometimes it's someone getting into markers and ruining their outfit. Sometimes it's someone spilling something on mommy and ruining her outfit! This morning I took the tray off Davis's high chair after he had a field day with a bowl of grits. I turned to grab the wipes and he decide to fall head first on the tile! I was physically nauseated for a few moments. He immediately cried and a nice little knot popped up on his forehead. I put ice on it right away and he calmed down quickly. I waited for a long time before we decided to go to church. Thankfully, we have a pediatrician that goes to our church and she took a look and felt like everything was fine as well. It
's been a good 6 hours now, and he's fine. No dizziness, vomiting, excessive crying, out of the ordinary sleepiness, etc. Just Davis being Davis. It gave me quite a scare though and certainly livened up our Sunday;)

Schooools...out..for summer!

Wahoo! This is our daddy's last day of school:0) He is gonna do a couple weeks of summer school in June, but that is nothing compared to his normal schedule! We are all so very excited and I think we should celebrate by being lazy by the pool:)

Back to the swing of things...

We are haveing to get back into the swing of things. My little ones are gonna have to adjust to being home with all their siblings everyday! While we will go to the pool most days, there are other things that have to get done:) They have to learn to play and share and compromise and treat each other with love and kindness (most of the time;) This morning they went a little wild so I had to lay down the law real quick! They are all down for a nap now and I am working this evening from 3-11 so hopefully they will give daddy a break and obey from the little lessons/discipline form this morning! I am making them sound terrible on here! They are really not that bad, they have just had a hard time listening and obeying this morning:) A nap will do them right I think!

My baby...

My baby finished her last day of kindergarten. My baby! Is this really my life? Do I have a first grader now? I really can't get over it! She is my precious girl, who just yesterday was my roly poly little baby girl with the chunkiest thighs that you ever laid eyes on. Now, it seems, she has grown up over night. She made it through this year with flying colors and my heart hurts a little that she's growing up so terribly fast! *tear*

Watermelon...

Summertime + Watermelon = 1 happy mommy:)

Oh yeah, and the kids too ;) I heart watermelon though! It's always so refreshing and satisfying. Mmmm...I think I'm gonna go eat some more now! Happy tuesday:)

One down, One to go...

One little child is out of school. Now, just one more to go! Paige finishes on Wednesday and I can't wait! It will be nice to sleep in a little for a change. Well...I guess for as long as my children will let me sleep in;) I like to have my house full as well. While that alone presents it's fair share of challenges, it makes my heart happy to have everyone at home with me. We also plan on spending lots and lots of time at the pool;)

Addicted

Hi. My name is Annie Parks, and I'm a coupon-a-holic. I get great joy out of my Sunday paper and it's numerous coupon inserts. It relaxes me to clip and file away my freshly cut coupons and file them away in my OCD organized notebook full of baseball card holders. Each little rectangle contains it's own coupon and I love how beautifully presented it is after each one is filed in it's appropriate section:) Yep, I'm an addict for sure.

Showing my age...

So, apparently Pac Man and I are the same age. Sad. That means I am really getting on up there:(

Looking forward...

I am looking forward to this evening. After much time away from Scott this week, we are gonna go to the South Alabama vs. Troy baseball game tonight as a family. Paige got a few tickets through her school and there are fireworks at the end of the game, so I am sure fun will be had by all. Most importantly, however, we are gonna have our daddy with us and that alone is worth it:)

I love...

I love the school that Annalee goes to. Her teachers absolutely love her. Not for just what she can do, or how she behaves. They love that too, but they have really gotten to know her. That makes my heart so glad because I want other people to experience what we do at home with her! I was a little apprehensive when she started this school year, because I was afraid they were gonna have a pre-conceived notion that she was gonna be just like Paige. She is certainly very different from her sister:) She is spunky and spicy! She is a good friend who looks right past differences and limitations. She instantly brightens a room when she walks in. she's fun and exciting and really enjoys life! She's HILARIOUS:) She L-O-V-E's to eat! She is a precious energetic gift from God. Her teachers recognize, appreciate, and love who she is! They miss her when she's not there, because it changes the whole demeanor of the classroom! I am thankful for the Lord's provision as we've sent her to school under His guidance. He has so carefully placed people in our life as well as hers and it is amazing to me! He is so very good to us.

Lovin the pool!

Since Scott's mom lives in an apartment complex now, we have daily access to a pool! Yay! We've been out there a few times already, including today, and look forward to many more days throughout the summer! Hooray for a pool:)

Missing our daddy...

We are missing our daddy today:( It's that crazy end of the school year/VBS time! That is all exciting, but it also means lots of daddy's time dedicated elsewhere. We miss him bunches and know that this is only a season, so we will be thankful for the time that we do get to spend with him and really miss him when he's not here. That's what I keep telling the kids anyway! Sometimes I'm worse than they are;)

I love the rain...

I do love the rain, especially on sundays! We had community group right after church today, and ate lunch together. It's a nice change to do that every now and then because then we actually have a Sunday evening free. That only happens once in a blue moon, so it's a nice break:) Then, when it rains on a day like today, we actually have an opportunity to take a Sunday nap! Of course, my littlest one, decided that he didn't think it was the best day to take a really long nap himself, so I cling to the mere idea of how nice that might've been! Oh well, maybe next blue moon:)

Little wonders...

Last night Scott and I went on a date to the Oyster House. Yum. We figure we'll get our seafood in before the oil ruins it all. Anyhoo, I was eating an oyster and...it had a pearl in it!! How fun! I'll keep it for forever:) It's a reminder that sometimes life is certainly hard and uncomfortable, but the Lord is sweet enough to give us a tangible item such as the pearl to let us know that He is producing much growth and beauty amidst all that irritaion. What a precious Father we serve!

Day to Day

So...what's it like to not be completely worn out everyday? Just curious.

Long day

We have a long day ahead. Annalee is still home sick, but I think she is on the mend! Hopefully she'll make it to school tomorrow:) Scott has work, then straiht to staff meeting at the church, and then a VBS meetin directly after. So...we won't be seeing daddy today:( We miss him already. The good news is, tomorrow is Friday!!!! Weekend here we come!

Look out...

Look Out!! I am on a spring cleaning mission! The kids rooms are done and our bedroom is getting there. I just need one more day in there. I organized the kitchen last week getting ready for the yard sale. The bathroom is relatively under control, it really just needs a good deep clean;) So, basically after our room, I have a toy closet and the foyer closet to conquer!! After all of that is said and done, we will finish purging the garage and I will take the biggest deepest breath EVER! I love, love, love to purge and organize! It makes my heart happy:)

Sick Little Ones

2 out of 3 of my little ducklings are sick:( Annalee woke up with fever in the night on Sunday, and her throat looked terrible. Davis was also drooling an insane amount so I deduced that he too must've had a mean sore throat as well. Scott took them to the doctor yesterday evening because I was sure that Annalee had strep, and therefore Davis probably had it too. Lo and behold, it's just another flippin' virus. Of course! Not that I want them to have strep! It's just that if it was strep, they could've just gotten a shot and be better in 24 hours. Oh well:) Now my throat is starting to hurt, so I'm just waiting to see who the next victim might be!

Prayer...

Today we are committing to pray for our friends Trevor and Katie Almy. Their daughter Karis was diagnosed with Krabbe several months ago, and the average lifespan for that daignosis is about 13 months. She is 10 months old now and is having surery today. Please join us as we lift up this family and their precious baby to our Healer. If you are interested in more info about her you can check out their blog at www.karisalmy.com

Happy Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all the mommies out there!!!!!

Pretty Good!

So...I did pretty good!!! I made about $185 and only had just a box of stuff left that made it's merry way to Good Will:) We made close to $600 total between the three of us which is not too shabby! I was thankful that we did so well, and that the Lord made it overcast, but held off the rain! We would have burned up if the sun had been blazin'!

Not quite ready...

We have our yard sale tomorrow and I am just not quite ready!!! I don't know how I'm gonna get it all done in time!!! I'm really hoping to make some money off it, but truthfully, just to know that it's out of my house and not coming back here is refreshing in and of itself:) I'll let you know how it all turns out!

A little bummed...

I'm a little bummed over my shopping trip today! I spent $27 and saved $71. Obviously I realize that is not terrible, but I have become accustomed to saving so much, that $27 is starting to look like ALOT:) I did get about 4 meals worth out of this trip and I got some really good deals on Nivea bodywash. I got them almost free! As always, I walked away with at least 3 boxes of cereal! All in all, I got a pretty good amount of stuff, I think I'm just getting greedy these days;)

All week...

This past weekend was packed full and these last three days have been super busy as well. We are finally able to sit down this evening and eat dinner as a family with plenty of time to spare and just have a little family time. Also, I'll finally get to see Scott for more than 30 minutes tonight. I am certainly looking forward to it:)

It's Been a Little Bit!

I made a trip to Publix again today! It's been a little bit since I've been. Well..longer than a week, let's put it that way:) I spent $6 and saved $43. It was a little smaller trip, but I still got some fun stuff! Here's a quick list of what it included:
1 Digiorno pizza
4 banquet frozen meals
2 pks Lenders bagels
2 Breyers yo-crunch yogurts
2 Sour creams
1 International Delight coffee creamer
1 Pepperidge Farm Deli flats
1 Whole wheat pita wraps
1 loaf fresh wheat baguette loaf
1.5 lbs. boneless skinless chicken breasts
1 pkg Zatarain's Jumbalaya
1 box Kellogg's Raisin Bran
1 box Kellogg's Disney fruit snacks
1 pkg Quakes rice snacks
2 lunchables
2 boxes Del Monte Fruit Chillers

It wasn't a huge trip but it turned out pretty good for the amount spent! We ar going back on Friday to shop this weeks sale that starts tomorrow so I'll try to remember to update:)

Blah...

Blah...that's how rainy Mondays feel to me. I just can't seem to get real motivated today! I need to do my normal daily houswework, not to mention get stuff ready for our yard sale this weekend! I have a boat load of stuff that I am more than happy to get rid of, and hopefully make some money in the meantime! Now I just have to make myself get it all together! So...here I go:)

Funny quote...

This morning in church we took communion. Our girls sit with us during the service and whenever we partake of the Lord's supper, we always talk them through the the elements. We explain what the bread represents and why, as well as with the juice. They always want to touch and smell it. This morning was no exception. Annalee asked if she could smell the juice and we told her that was fine. She smelled it and looked up at me and whispered, "It smells like Jesus!" It made me giggle:) How precious is she?

Crazy...

Last night Scott went to a men's retreat our church was having. Since several wives were gonna be husbandless, we Morgan, Katie, and I decided that a slumber party was in order. That's right folks. 3 adults and 7 kids under 6 years of age in a 3 bedroom 1 bath house. It was good times!! We stayed at Morgan's and she also has an office, so Jude and Davis each had a room to themselves. The three little girls slept on an air mattress in Morgan's room and her boy's were in their normal beds. We did have a couple of middle of the night waker-uppers, but thankfully went back to sleep quickly. They all arose much earlier than any sane person would anticipate, but all in all it was a success! They all went to bed at 7:30 last night and did really well. There were no major disputes, other than the regular Davis/Jude quarrels;) It was really fun and it's always good to have some girls time!
