Reminiscing...

The picture at the top has nothing to do with this post, I just thought it was cute! Scott and I were talking last night and remembering the days of college and being involved in Campus Outreach and going to SBP. Some friends of ours went to project this weekend and led worship for the project. We started trying to think of the classic songs that we used to sing like "Jesus, Take me...make me...", and "Cast your burdens...clap, clap, clap,...onto Jesus..., and "Lean Not...", etc. There were a ton that we thought of and several that we couldn't remember for the life of us! So, all you CO alumni, feel free leave comments of song titles that you remember along the way. I'm hoping you'll come up with some of the ones I can't remember!

Davis' Stats

Davis had his 4 month check-up on Friday and he weighed in at 13lbs 2oz and was 24 1/2 in long. He's not the biggest baby ever, but he's steadily growing. He had to have another round of immunizations and he did great. He's rolling over like a champ and tries to scoot some. He wants to keep up with his sisters so bad! He coos and babbles lots, and blowing raspberries is one of his favorite pasttimes! He is my precious little brown-eyed boy and I am thankful that God gave him to me and that he is healthy as well!

SNAKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok, so I was out running today at around 2:00 this afternoon. Yes, it was miserably hot, but it was the only time I could go today. I run by a golf course near our house and it's a very wooded trail with lots of shade. It's normally a great run. Today, however I'm on my way, getting into my running nitch with my ipod going strong, when suddenly a SNAKE crawls right across my path and I literally have to jump over it. I flipped out! I started running really fast and just couldn't get over that I just stepped over a snake. Not two minutes later...the SAME thing happens again! I jump over another SNAKE!. By this point I am just wigging out! I am sure anyone who saw me thought I had tourette's syndrome, because I was running faster than normal and all the sudden I would just scream and shake all over because I had the heebie jeebies from those creepy crawly creatures! I'm sure it was a sight to see. I had to get away from the wooded part and just ran straight up University Blvd in the blazing heat. I didn't care! I really think I would rather be hit by a car than bitten by a snake. I was all paranoid after the incident too, so even after I was running on the street, I kept looking behind me and all around to make sure the snakes weren't following me! I guess I don't really need to mention the fact that I HATE snakes!

Like father, Like son...

Just in case you were wondering who Davis favors, It's daddy! Right down to the noggins (and hairline!). They have the exact same head, and it's absolutely hilarious! Scott had a pretty good Father's Day. It was pretty low key. All he wanted to do was sleep because he was so exhausted from the VBS extravaganza. So, we went to church, ate lunch, and Scott took a 3 hour nap that I had to wake him up from because I wanted him to be able to sleep that night. His gift is a yard guy that's coming to clean up our forest of a back yard and get it in working order! Paige and Annalee and I made him a card and Paige helped write a poem for him. We decided we'd post it so everyone could know how great our daddy is!

Our Daddy

Our daddy is the bravest
He's the funniest of them all.
Our daddy is the kindest
He's big, and strong, and tall.

Our daddy has the biggest heart
The warmest eyes are his.
Our daddy loves us fiercely
There is no disputing this.

Our daddy speaks of Jesus
His Savior, Redeemer, and Friend.
Our daddy always teaches us
This Jesus, our hearts He'll mend.

Our daddy is our protector
He gives the greatest hugs.
Happy Father's Day to our daddy,
From your kittle "love bugs"!

Be strong, and Courageous!

For those of you who attended VBS this past week at Grace Community, you'll recognize my little Paige being strong and courageous! VBS went really well, and my precious husband did a fabulous job organizing it all! He put in many hours and the Lord definitely blessed the fruits of his labor. Many little ears heard the gospel everynight and God's word promises that His word will not return void.

Sleepy Boy...

We have tried our very best to replace his thumb with the pacifier, but we are losing that battle obviously. He likes his paci and takes it, and is put to bed and down for naps with it. However, everytime I go in to wake him up, his little thumb is in his mouth. I have to admit that I think it's so very cute, right now. I know, however, that later in life thumb-sucking is not an easy habit to break! I guess I'll just enjoy it for now, while it's sweet and cute!

Long Time, No Blog...

Sorry for the blogging delinquency! There's not really a good excuse, so I won't waste time trying to make one. We have been a busy family of five.
Scott's school year is done and he just started on Monday to teach summer school. Thankfully it's just 8-11 M-Tr. Our VBS starts tonight so my husband has been M.I.A. for the past few weeks busy getting everything together since he's in charge of it all. It's going to be great though. I will be glad, however, when it's over, so we can see our daddy a little more!
Paige has learned how to ride her bike, still with training wheels though. Annalee's feet still don't reach her pedals all the way so she's just frustrated with her bike! We have a princess T-ball set that the girls are a major fan of.
Thank the Lord for friends who have pools, because we've spent a good portion of this hot weather so far in a pool. It's so HOT, that we can't play outside for long unless there's some sort of water activity involved!
Scott's mom visited last week and that was a good visit. She bought the girls several cute matching dresses (I love to dress them alike) and she bought Davis several play outfits that are super cute. I have to figure out how to incorporate Davis into the matching mix a little. It's harder to do that with a little boy. Plus I have to run everything by Scott, so he can give me the "not too frilly" approval for his outfits!
Scott and I are really about to overhaul our finances. We attended a Crown Financial Conference and recently read another book by Dave Ramsey and are excited about what the Lord has in store for us. I am working again at the hospital as a nurse on Labor and Delivery, so I will be working some extra shifts this summer while Scott's home a little more. We're just sick of Scott working so hard at three different jobs and consistently coming up with nothing to show for it. The Lord has definitely brought us here and we realize that the sacrifice of time might be necessary for a short while, but it will be well worth it when we don't have to worry about money all the time!
Well, this is a little catch-up and I promise I'll do better at posting in a more timely manner!
